What would you advise a pillion passenger with regard to safety? |
|
Advise pillion to wear an approved motorcycle safety helmet correctly fastened, wear the correct motorcycle jacket and trousers with the minimum being denim, also wear correct gloves, and boots that give ankle protection |

How would you advise a pillion to sit on the back of the bike? |
|
Don’t get on or off the bike until told too, face forward placing feet on rear pegs, hold on to rails or rider, lean with the bike. |

|
Stability, especially at slow speeds, increased braking distance and slower acceleration |

What can you / should you adjust on you bike to account for the extra weight? |

Tyre pressure, Headlight, Mirrors, Suspension, Chain where fitted |

Which shoulder would you advise your pillion to look over if they wanted to see the road ahead? |

Left shoulder, as rider does most observations over the right shoulder |

How would you advise a pillion passenger to make arm signals? |
|
You wouldn’t, rider is in control of the motorcycle, not the pillion |

What legal requirements are needed to carry a pillion? |
|
Appropriate motorcycle driving licence, appropriate insurance, Tax, MOT, a motorcycle equipped to carry a pillion, (including a rear seat, foot rest & chain guard) pillion & rider must be able bodied to be on the motorcycle |
