125 Intense Course
|
|
|
The 125 Intense course was introduced to allow riders 17 years of age or above to take a test on a motorcycle between 121-125cc. Once passed,
the rider is given a restricted motorcycle licence (shown as A2 on your licence) that allows them to ride a motorcycle which exceeds no more
than 25KW (33BHP) for the first two years. After 2 years the licence automatically upgrades (shown as A on your licence),
therefore allowing the rider to ride any size motorcycle.
As part of the course you must complete a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) to gain a DL196 certificate.
A full motorcycle theory test must also be taken before the practical test can be taken.

The Module 1 test is carried out on an off-road DSA approved test site and covers all
the slow riding and manoeuvres you will have learnt in your training.
The test can last for approximately 25 minutes.
Module 2 is the on-road riding part, which is carried out on possible
roads you may have been on for your training. The test lasts approximately 40 to 45 minutes.
You must pass Module 1 before you are able to take Module 2.
There is free tea & coffee available throughout the day and usually a burger van too.
There are toilet facilities and off road parking.
