cbt element c on site riding If you show a good level of understanding, and you are able to control the bike both in the car park, and on the road, to a level of safety where we feel that you are able to ride the bike unaccompanied without causing a danger to yourself and or other road users you will be issued with a DL196 (CBT Certificate).

Once issued your certificate is valid for two years from that date, if you do not pass a full
motorcycle test before that time you will need to retake the course to remain legal on the road. .

The following rules also apply
  • You must not carry a pillion
  • You must not tow any sort of trailer
  • You are not allowed to ride on a motorway
  • o You must still display full size 'L' plates front and rear of your bike at all times
Your CBT certificate validates your provisional entitlement on your driving licence to ride, keep it safe as you may be asked to produce it along with your licence should you be stopped by the authorities..

Your CBT is also a prerequisite for training towards a test so you will need to produce each time you come for a training session
